Meet Your Doula
My name is Kyla and I am a trained CAPPA birth doula serving mamas from Fort Collins to Longmont and anywhere in between. I’m a wife to my soulmate (yeah, I know cheesy), and we have two kiddos, a boy and girl, just 16 months apart. I’m still very much in the trenches of learning how to be a mama with my young kiddos, but I’m truly blessed to have them. I love a good rainy day to read and drink coffee out of one of my favorite mugs. I’m learning how to make sourdough and already planning my garden for spring. I’m a little bit crunchy and a little bit not, but ultimately I’m passionate about people doing what is healthy for them. My husband and I are both creative people and love to create things together. An aesthetically pleasing home makes my heart happy, and I pride myself on my thrifting abilities. Being a doula is the perfect outlet for me to nerd out about all things birth. I’m an avid birth vlog watcher and NEVER turn down an opportunity to hear someone’s birth story.
HI THERE
I have a passion for women to have births that leave them feeling powerful. I believe that women’s bodies were beautifully designed to give birth and with proper support, a soon-to-be mom can have an intense yet beautiful birth. However, I also know that life throws us curve balls. My own pregnancy and birth experience with my son showed me that, and it’s what drove me to become a doula. I struggled with hypertension throughout my whole pregnancy which eventually led to me being induced at 36 weeks with preeclampsia. I wish I had had a doula to be my guide in the process. Someone who knew even just a little more than I did, to help me cope and help me achieve the birth I desired so strongly. I got pregnant with my daughter just 8 months postpartum (oops), and struggled with hypertension yet again. I needed someone to uniquely support me through my labor, and my desire is to bring you the personalized support you desire and need in yours. With a doula beside me, I left my birth experience feeling empowered and at peace even though it wasn’t entirely what I had hoped for.
My passion for Jesus also shapes how I view birth. If you desire to integrate faith into your birth, that is definitely an option. If not, please know that I respect all ways of life and would simply love to join you in bringing about YOUR perfect birth story!
